Styling Tips for Elegant Outfits & Long Dresses
- Congratulations – you’ve graduated! Long prom and graduation dresses are allowed to be a bit over the top with out-of-the-ordinary fabrics and exciting details. Do remember – especially at your prom party – these party dresses will have to endure a long night and that there will be a lot of dancing. A lot! So it’s best to steer clear of long trains and delicate fabrics. And if long prom dresses are not your thing at all, then cocktail dresses and midi dresses are perfectly fine and make interesting alternatives.
- Say “I do!” at the next wedding – even if you’re a guest – to elegant long dresses! Because at such beautiful occasions as a wedding, long evening gowns make a joyful and beautiful statement. Depending on the dress code, you will have lots of leeway here, too. Summer weddings outdoors are often more casual. Here, colorful florals and other patterns on fabrics like chiffon or silk are guaranteed to give you that wow effect!
- For more traditional invitations, ladies in long evening gowns made of glamorous fabrics will win the hearts of the other guests. A long satin dress, elegantly draped, is always a good choice here. The only restriction is the color. The long red evening dress is traditionally reserved for the mother of the bride, the long white dress is of course exclusively for the bride, and a long evening dress in black is basically taboo – unless the dress code explicitly calls for it.
- Your Cinderella moment! Ever since you were a child, you’ve dreamed of attending a ball, like Cinderella, in a long blue evening gown and glass slippers – and suddenly the invitation is actually in the mailbox. Except, the fairy godmother has failed to show up again! There’s only one thing you can do: be pragmatic and shop for yourself. Of course, it’s not so difficult. All you have to remember is that your fabulous new ball gown must be one that you can dance in to your heart’s content. After all, that’s what the ball is for. While expansive, sweeping skirts are beautiful, they can sometimes be impractical – especially when you need to sit down. You’ll probably want to avoid lengthy trains as well. On the other hand, tight, long dresses might hamper some of your dance moves too. The ideal solution: a long dress with a slit for more freedom of movement! As for the material, feel free to experiment – depending on which ball you will attend. Long, glittering evening dresses are very much appreciated at modern events. However, for the more traditional balls, focus on simpler fabrics.
- Sleeves or not? Sure. Long evening dresses with sleeves can sometimes have a more elegant and perhaps more conventional air. But an evening gown with long sleeves can also be sexy! If you prefer a high-necked design yet still want to show some skin, a deep back neckline, for example, will draw everyone’s attention.
So, have you decided? Will it be a sleek, long dress made of shimmering satin, or one of the spectacular, glittering luxury evening gowns from our collection? We would be happy to help you choose the right dress. Our customer service team is at your disposal!
